Write for us
Modern Spotlight welcomes thoughtful pitches about interiors and domestic space. We look for clear ideas grounded in recognisable details, written for readers who are curious but may not know design terminology.
What to pitch
Proposals may explain a design feature, compare two approaches, trace the background of a familiar object or help readers notice how a room works. Choose a distinct subject and state the central point in a few sentences. We favour useful evergreen ideas over product roundups, trend claims or advice that assumes every home is alike.
What makes a strong submission
A good pitch names its intended reader, explains what the article will clarify and shows why the subject merits a closer look. Include a brief outline and relevant writing samples if you have them. Do not send confidential material, unsupported claims or work that depends on professional inspection or local rules.
How to send an idea
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial option. Please include a working title, a short summary and any relevant experience with the subject. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; do not submit work you cannot offer for editorial consideration.
Rooms reward a closer look
A chair, a window and a clear route through a room all contribute to how it feels. We examine those choices without prescribing one style of home.
